  2. It is always a tough call. Stay behind a lorry engulfed in a cloud of smoke and risk suffocation in the helmet, slow down and give the smoking lorry some distance or hit the throttle harder and take on the corner like the lorries are furniture. I would have done it just like this.

  3. Talking of fuel. I recently did a ride from Karatina at night. Ignored fueling at makutano and sagana. That stretch to kenol was the longest 25 minutes of my life. I was literally pushing the iron horse with prayer. It’s always a good idea to have a full tank.

  4. ….ok…..guys. .. I am thoroughly roasted on this one side. Equal parts sweet and sour ….*grunt*….now let me turn over onto my left side for further processing…..I HOPE HOWEVER that we are learning. …..πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚and Ash Γ–ΓΆ…I laughingly remind you of a certain short weekend trip down the rift that you invited guys to a few weeks ago where an activity Mututho would skin you alive for was proposed πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚….I will take my banπŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡….hmmm….I am stumped though about what to do with you? #glasshousesandstonesmanenozπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  5. ..I dint want to say this, but a couple of months ago from Kampala I had the same exact experience at the exact same spot… I wasnt lucky enough to be out of harms way in time like John did, but found myself lane splitting between two trailers with a driver so pissed at me hurling insults at me, while at the same time trying his best not to squash me.. It was undoubtedly one of my most nerve wrecking experience as a biker and I thank God each day that I came out the other end alive and with enough courage to drop a gear instead of hanging my boots..

  6. Ok…I agree…unless you are me it would not be the first thing you pack on such a trip….but I would like to encourage guys to post clips of their adventures. (and misadventures) here for our education,..and amusement…and for shameless bragging also, let’s not forget we are Africans in some way all of us πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
